Contract Wedding Planners
Some wedding planners come with the wedding venue. When a bride and groom choose a wedding site, they have to use the contract wedding planner. Generally, this is no problem because the contract wedding planner knows the venue like the back of her hand. She knows every inch of the place and has planned many perfect weddings.
Sometimes, the contract wedding planner and the bride don’t mix well. It happens; sometimes people simply don’t click. If this lack of bonding becomes a problem, the bride will have to cope or change the venue. Either way the problem will be over. Contract wedding planners have to be very good at working with brides and their mothers because she knows they will only have faith in her if she does a good job. She knows that she has to tiptoe around her clients until they begin to bond. Obviously, if the contract wedding planner runs off too many brides, she won’t be around long anyway.
Many historical sites have contract wedding planners because these planners will be familiar with the history of the site and will do everything to keep the integrity of the site. For instance, a contract wedding planner would never add decorations to walls because that would cause damage. They know their venue and will not allow anything to undermine the beauty of the site. She will add flowers and decorations that will accent the beauty of the structure. She can guide her bride into using colors that coordinate with the existing colors of the room they are going to use. More than likely, a bride who want to use an historical site doesn’t want a wedding that would clash with furnishings.
The contract wedding planner probably works with an on site caterer also. She can help the bride choose her menu from what the careering company has available. Some historical wedding venues have historical menus for brides to choose from especially if the bride wants an old-fashioned wedding with everyone wearing costumes. Working closely with the bride as far as the menu is concerned is a must. The bride might have different ideas that cannot be accomplished by the on site company. The contract wedding planner must help the bride feel happy with what is available. What the bride has to understand is that using a venue with contract vendors does not allow her complete freedom. That is part of the price of using special venues.
The wedding cake is a different story. Most venues do not have on site bakeries that specialize in wedding cakes. The bride and the contract wedding event planner can work together to find a good bakery nearby because wedding cakes do not travel well.
If the bride doesn’t live nearby, she will need to visit the venue at least a few times. The first trip is to meet the contract wedding event planner. Next she and the groom need to visit to finalize all of the plans. If the second trip isn’t possible, there will be plenty of surprises. Don’t be afraid of contract wedding event planners. They are experienced and very good at their jobs. Besides you are not marrying your wedding planner; you are marrying the man of your dreams.
